Northern Azerbaijan · the Greater Caucasus
A Lezgin land at the foot of snowy peaks. A town on the Qusarchay, the gateway to Shahdag and Laza, where mountains, waterfalls and an ancient culture come together.
What this land is
Qusar (Gusar) is a district in northern Azerbaijan, in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus, on the Qusarchay river. It is the only district in the country with a predominantly Lezgin population.
From here it is a short way to Mount Shahdag, the village of Laza with its waterfalls and the border with Russia. Qusar joins an ancient culture with grand mountain nature.

"Qusar is snowy peaks, waterfalls and an ancient Lezgin tongue."

The mountains call
Above Qusar rises Shahdag — one of the highest peaks of Azerbaijan, 4,243 metres tall. At its foot grew the country's first ski resort, open to guests all year round.
About ShahdagCome and see
Qusar is easy to reach from Baku and perfect for a two-day trip: mountain air, waterfalls, skiing in winter and cool in summer. The land is worth lingering in.
