Snow and height

Shahdag

At the foot of one of the highest peaks of Azerbaijan grew Shahdag — the country's first ski resort, open to guests in both winter and summer.

Shahdag is both a mountain and a resort. Mount Shahdag, 4,243 metres high, gave its name to the modern tourism complex that became a calling card of the Qusar district.

Shahdag

A year-round resort

The Shahdag tourism complex is the first ski resort of Azerbaijan. In winter people ski and snowboard here; in summer they walk in the mountains, breathe the clean air and admire the peaks.

Hotels, lifts and slopes make the resort convenient for families and groups, and its closeness to Baku makes it easy for a weekend trip.

Mount Shahdag

The peak of Shahdag itself — the "King Mountain" — rises 4,243 metres above sea level. Its rocky silhouette is seen from afar and reigns over the whole northern land.

Nearby are the Shah-yaylag plateau, alpine meadows and mountain trails that lead to the foot of the majestic mountain.
